Slayer Pest Control provides eco-conscious, professional extermination throughout De Pere, WI. Our team handles ants, rodents, spiders, and stinging insects with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

De Pere homeowners deal with pests on both sides of the water. The older homes around St. Norbert College and the East Side river blocks have decades of settling and hand-cut millwork behind their walls. The newer subdivisions spreading toward Ledgeview and Rockland sit on ground that was a crop field a few years ago. Different houses, different entry points, same result when nobody’s watching the perimeter.
What makes De Pere distinct is the river running straight through the middle of it. The dam and lock hold water back into slow, warm, shallow margins, and slow water is exactly what mosquitoes breed in. The Riverwalk corridor, Voyageur Park, and the low ground along both banks stay humid deep into the season, which sustains not just mosquitoes but the spiders and centipedes that follow them.
That’s where we come in. Slayer Pest Control builds treatment plans around actual Brown County conditions instead of a national script. Whether it’s July mosquitoes off the backwater or October mice testing your rim joist, we’ve handled it here before.
Get started by calling or texting (920) 370-3430, or email Nick and the team at nick@slayerpest.com.
In the De Pere area, we commonly help homeowners and property managers with mice, ants, spiders, wasps, yellow jackets, and seasonal invaders like stink bugs, boxelder bugs, and Asian lady beetles.
Rodent activity is always steady in the area and tends to become a bigger concern as temperatures drop and mice look for ways inside through gaps around foundations, siding, garage doors, and utility lines.
During the warmer months, we see more calls for ants, spiders, and stinging insects around homes, garages, decks, and eaves.
Calling Slayer gets you more than a technician on a route sheet. Nick built this company specifically because the national outfits treat customers like stops between stops — twenty minutes, a hose around the foundation, an invoice, gone.
Residential and commercial customers across De Pere get responsive, professional work from people who know the town. Here’s what that means:
From the quiet streets near Legion Park to storefronts along George Street and Main Avenue, we handle ants, spiders, rodents, ticks, wasps, and the rest.
Most quote inspections take 5 minutes, depending on the property. De Pere’s housing runs from pre-1900 river homes to brand-new construction, and the vulnerabilities are nothing alike — so we build the plan around what’s actually in front of us.
A lot of jobs don’t need you home. Want a spider barrier ahead of summer? Got a wasp nest in the soffit? We can work start to finish from the exterior.
We walk the perimeter, text you the quote, and frequently complete the first treatment during that same visit.
De Pere businesses face pest pressure that shifts block by block. A restaurant on George Street sits within sight of the river. A distribution facility off Highway 41 backs onto open ground. Student housing near St. Norbert turns over hundreds of tenants and their belongings every August. Each carries a different risk profile, and in every case one sighting can cost you an inspection score, a lease renewal, or a review that outlives the problem.
Slayer Pest Control delivers discreet, effective commercial pest management built around the structural and regulatory realities of De Pere facilities. We’re not here to spray and invoice. We build layered defenses aimed at the conditions creating the problem, so your operation runs uninterrupted, and your reputation stays intact.
Our commercial work runs on integrated pest management and real documentation — service logs, device maps, product records, and corrective recommendations that hold up when a health inspector or third-party auditor asks. Drain flies in a restaurant floor drain, rodents working a warehouse dock along the highway corridor, cluster flies stacking on a sunny office wall, or spider buildup on a riverfront patio: each gets its own protocol.
We also work on your schedule, not ours. Campus-adjacent housing needs fast bed bug response during turnover season. Food service needs zero-tolerance rodent exclusion, no exceptions. Slayer gives you a local partner with early-morning and after-hours availability, so treatments stay invisible to your customers and tenants.
These are the pests we’re called out for most across De Pere homes and businesses:
Ants generate more calls than anything else we treat, and it starts the week spring finally holds. Once the frost releases, colonies mobilize — and homeowners go from spotting one ant on the counter to finding a trail behind the dishwasher in a matter of days.
The important thing about ants is that they’re far easier to stop outside on the property than inside a home. A preventive program like the Slayer Home Protection Plan exists so you never reach the panic stage in the first place.
We treat the full range found here. Odorous house ants — the tiny “sugar ants” — swarm kitchens in the older East De Pere homes. Carpenter ants are the bigger concern, and De Pere gives them ideal conditions: century-old framing lumber, river humidity, and mature shade trees dropping limbs on rooflines. Carpenter ants don’t consume wood; they excavate it, and they specifically seek out lumber that moisture has already softened.
Our approach is a structural perimeter defense rather than a hunt for visible ants. We apply a non-repellent barrier at the foundation that ants can’t detect. They walk through it, carry it home, and distribute it through the colony — queen included. That’s the difference between ending a colony and relocating it.

Around De Pere, we clear common house spiders and cellar spiders constantly, along with wolf spiders — large, quick, and drawn to the damp stone-and-block basements throughout the older neighborhoods. Riverfront and Riverwalk-adjacent properties get the heaviest pressure, because the insects spiders eat are hatching right there off the water.
At Slayer Pest Control, our spider control program does more than lay down a perimeter product. Our technicians physically de-web the structure: soffits, eaves, window frames, door headers, porch ceilings, light fixtures, deck rails. Removing webs and egg sacs interrupts the reproductive cycle rather than just thinning out the adults you can see — and your exterior looks clean again the same day.
If webs are taking over your porch or river view, we’ll get it back.

Rodents are the defining fall pest in De Pere, and the reason is geography. Neighborhoods on the west and south sides of town sit directly against active farmland in Lawrence and Rockland. When those fields get harvested, the cover disappears overnight, and the mice living in them move — toward warmth, toward foundations, toward you. Homes along that boundary see it every autumn.
Effective rodent control and vole control here has to be proactive, because a couple of mice in September becomes a genuine infestation by December. Nick’s team leads with exclusion. Traps alone treat the symptom and never the cause. We locate the actual openings — a dime-sized gap where the siding meets the foundation, a chewed utility penetration, a garage door sweep that’s lost its seal, an uncapped dryer vent — and close them with materials rodents can’t work through.
From there, we layer in professional baiting systems and practical sanitation guidance so the property stops reading as a food source. Historic home near the college or a new build out toward Ledgeview, the objective is the same: wiring intact, insulation intact, nothing running through the ceiling at night.

Wisconsin’s short summer makes stinging insects work fast, and they nest in all the worst spots — under soffits, behind shutters, inside grill covers, in the frame of the playset, above the door you use most.
Yellow jackets turn dangerous in August and September. Colonies hit peak size right as their natural food runs out, which makes them aggressive and persistent around anything sweet — including a backyard party. They favor ground burrows and wall voids, so most people find a nest by accident, usually with a lawnmower or a hand on the siding.
Slayer handles stinging insect removal safely and completely, including void nests where a can of hardware-store spray only drives them deeper into the wall.

The De Pere dam is beautiful, and it is also a mosquito engine. Holding the river back creates slow, warm, shallow margins along both banks, and mosquitoes need moving water to be exactly that still to breed. Add the low ground near Voyageur Park, the drainage swales through newer subdivisions, and the ditch lines along the farmland edge, and De Pere yards carry a heavier load than the acreage would suggest.
Our mosquito management program is built to make your yard usable again. Mosquitoes spend daylight hours resting in cool shade, so that’s our target: undersides of foliage, dense shrub beds, fence lines, tall grass, and shaded foundation plantings — applied with a misting system that reaches a depth a hose-end sprayer never touches.
We also run In2Care technology, an eco-friendly system that uses mosquito behavior against the population. Treated females carry the active ingredient back to the standing water where they lay eggs, wiping out breeding sites you’d never find yourself — including the ones two yards over.

Ticks have become a real concern across Brown County, and De Pere’s mix of river corridor, trail access, and farmland edge gives them plenty of ground. Deer ticks — the Lyme carriers — are well established in Northeast Wisconsin, and Wisconsin remains one of the higher-incidence states in the country.
Risk concentrates in specific places, which surprises most homeowners. Ticks don’t cross open lawn. They wait in the transition zone: the line where mowed grass meets tall grass, brush, leaf litter, or woods. If your property touches the Fox River Trail, the wooded slope down toward the water, a fence line against a field, or an unmaintained lot, that boundary is where your exposure lives.
Our tick pest control service focuses there. We treat perimeter brush lines, shaded groundcover, leaf litter, retaining walls, woodpiles, and ornamental beds — the humid, sheltered pockets ticks need to survive. Sun-exposed turf gets minimal attention, because ticks dry out and die there regardless; blanket-treating a whole lawn burns product without lowering risk.
Timing matters as much as placement. Nymphal deer ticks run May through July and account for most disease transmission — they’re roughly poppy-seed sized and easy to miss completely. Adults surge again in fall and stay active any day above freezing, often into November. We schedule around both windows instead of treating once and hoping.
We’ll also walk the property and show you what’s inviting them in. Moving the woodpile off the fence line, widening the mowed buffer, and clearing leaf litter along shaded foundations can cut tick pressure as much as the application does.

If your house catches strong afternoon sun — and plenty of De Pere’s older west-facing homes do — you already know what late September brings.
The first cold night hits and box elder bugs cover the warm wall by the thousands, working every seam for a way into a wall cavity or attic to overwinter. Asian lady beetles usually arrive on the same day. Mature box elder and maple trees, which De Pere has in abundance along its established streets, feed the local population directly.
The entire game is timing. Our box elder bug pest control service applies a targeted exterior treatment in late summer and early fall — before they mass — so the siding stops working as a gathering surface and they never locate the gaps.
Once they’re inside your wall voids, nobody can do much until spring. The “Slayer Shield” approach is about stopping it at the exterior, on schedule, before it gets that far.

Nobody enjoys the topic, but cockroaches exist wherever people live close together, and De Pere is no exception. We see them most in apartments, duplexes, and older homes converted into units — settings where one unit with a problem seeds an entire building through shared walls and plumbing chases.
German cockroaches are the usual offender. They arrive in grocery bags, secondhand furniture, and used appliances, then establish in warm kitchen and bathroom voids. Larger American cockroaches turn up in damp basements and floor drains, especially in older properties near the river.
We don’t rely on baseboard spraying, which mostly scatters a population deeper into the structure and makes the next treatment harder. Our protocol combines high-attractant gel baits, insect growth regulators (IGRs), and precision-applied dusts placed directly into the cracks, voids, and harborage points where roaches actually live.
Hitting the source is what breaks the breeding cycle permanently — and clears out the allergens and bacteria they leave behind.

Bed bugs have nothing to do with how clean your house is. One hotel stay, one visiting relative, one secondhand couch, and they’re in. We handle bed bug work throughout De Pere, including apartments, duplexes, and multi-unit buildings where fast, coordinated treatment is the whole ballgame.
De Pere’s rental and campus-adjacent housing sees real turnover pressure, particularly in late summer when leases flip and furniture moves between units and buildings. That’s the season these hitchhikers spread. DIY sprays and foggers almost always make it worse, scattering the population into wall voids and furniture frames where reaching them gets much harder.
Our bed bug removal process is methodical and completely discreet, with an unmarked approach and no announcement to your neighbors. We inspect sleeping areas, upholstered furniture, frames, and baseboards thoroughly, then apply professional-grade residuals and specialized equipment targeting every life stage, from eggs through adults. Missing the eggs is precisely why most treatments fail, and the problem returns in three weeks.
We’ll get your bedroom back without the frustration of a DIY attempt that only buys the infestation time.

Plenty of other things turn up in De Pere homes, apartments, and commercial buildings, and we treat those too.
We remove stink bugs, house centipedes, cluster flies, ticks, Asian lady beetles, earwigs, fleas, silverfish, carpet beetles, and Indian meal moths. See the full range of our other pest control options here.
Dealing with something larger? We’ll connect you with a trusted local wildlife company for squirrels, raccoons, opossums, skunks, bats, muskrats, and woodchucks.
Pest activity here follows a fairly reliable calendar. Here’s what to expect and when, for both residential and commercial properties:
| Season | Months | Primary Local Pests | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spring | March – May | Ants, Spiders, Carpenter Ants, Ticks | Thawing ground along the Fox River wakes colonies early; nymphal deer ticks become active in May. |
| Summer | June – August | Mosquitoes, Lake Flies, Wasps, Ticks | Slow water above the De Pere dam sustains heavy mosquito breeding, and yellow jackets turn aggressive by late summer. |
| Fall | September – November | Box Elder Bugs, Asian Lady Beetles, Cluster Flies | Harvest clears the fields west and south of town, pushing rodents indoors while overwintering insects swarm sunny walls. |
| Winter | December – February | Mice, Rats, Cockroaches, Centipedes | Rodents settle into De Pere basements, attics, and rim joists; interior insect activity peaks. |
Several variables determine what professional service runs in De Pere and the surrounding Brown County communities:
The fastest route to a real number is a free inspection. We’ll walk the property and text you a quote, no obligation.
It’s the first question nearly every De Pere homeowner asks, and the answer is yes.
Kids and pets come first. We use eco-friendly, EPA-approved products selected to be effective on pests while remaining safe around dogs, cats, and other household animals once the application has dried — typically about 60 minutes.
We operate within a strict Integrated Pest Management (IPM) framework, which means:
1.) Our technicians treat the source so we use less product overall, rather than broadcasting through interior living space.
2.) Baits and traps go where pets and children can’t reach them: inside wall voids, behind appliances, in tamper-resistant stations.
3.) You get clear, specific re-entry instructions before we leave the property.
“A homeowner on the east side of De Pere was dealing with yellow jackets and wasps. They noticed multiple nests back in early summer of 2024. The nests were believed to be in various locations throughout the outbuilding.
However, upon further inspection, hidden nests were also found in the home. It was likely going on for years, as this homeowner purchased the home in Summer 2024, and there were more than a dozen nests on the property. They didn’t try anything themselves due to being allergic.
What we found was approximately 15 paper wasp nests and a yellow jacket entry point on the outbuilding. Most pest control companies would just inspect the outbuilding, but knowing this customer is allergic to stinging insects, we walked the entire property looking for random ground nests. We also inspected the home’s exterior for activity, where we again located nests the homeowner never knew existed on the home.
After inspecting the property, we utilized our bee suit and safety-treated the nests and entry points. We solved this infestation in one treatment. A ladder was required to treat the eaves. This outbuilding was older, so it had a lot of quirks and places for wasps to hide their nests; a proper, thorough inspection was key here to solve their problem in one service.
We always send a follow-up text to our wasp and yellow jacket clients a week after treatment to ensure satisfaction. In Fall 2024, the customer started to hear sounds in the home and started to see mice droppings. They hired Slayer for mice removal; we removed the infestation and have provided this customer with our Slayer Home and Rodent Protection Plan and have been servicing the home ever since, with no wasp, mouse, ant, or spider infestations occurring since!”

Our De Pere, WI technicians have years of experience clearing pests out of local homes and businesses — from ant trails and porch webs to mice, voles, ticks, and every seasonal invader in between.
De Pere is one of the best places to live in Northeast Wisconsin: the Riverwalk, Voyageur Park, the historic lock and dam, St. Norbert College, and a downtown on each bank that people actually walk to. It’s also a river town wedged between water and farmland, and that combination produces genuine pest pressure.
From the East Side historic blocks to the newer neighborhoods stretching toward Ledgeview and Rockland, Slayer Pest Control is proud to serve the entire De Pere community.
Multiple service tiers, so you’re paying for what your property actually needs:

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we get from home and business owners in the De Pere area:
Because “sealed tight” and “sealed against a mouse” are different standards. An adult mouse fits through a gap the width of a pencil. On the west and south sides of De Pere, where neighborhoods meet active farmland, harvest displaces entire field populations at once, and they move toward the nearest heat source. Any small gap — a utility penetration, a worn door sweep, a foundation crack — becomes the front door. Exclusion work is what actually ends the cycle.
Yes, East and West De Pere both, plus the surrounding townships. The two sides genuinely differ — the older East Side stock brings carpenter ant and basement spider issues, while the newer development toward Ledgeview and Rockland brings rodent and vole pressure from the field edge. We adjust the plan accordingly.
It contributes, yes. Mosquitoes need standing water, or very slow-moving water, to breed, and impounding the river creates exactly those conditions along the shallow margins. Combined with low ground near the parks and drainage swales in newer subdivisions, De Pere carries more mosquito pressure than its size suggests. Yard treatment plus In2Care makes a substantial difference even so.
Concerned enough to take precautions, not enough to avoid the trail. Deer ticks are established throughout Brown County, and wooded corridors with leaf litter are prime habitat. If your property borders the trail or wooded slope, perimeter tick treatment plus a wider mowed buffer meaningfully reduces what makes it into your yard. Check yourself, kids, and dogs after time in the brush.
Yes, regularly. We handle multi-unit buildings, duplexes, and rental properties throughout town, including building-wide protocols for bed bugs and cockroaches. Treating a single unit while its neighbors go untreated wastes money — these pests move through shared walls and plumbing. We’ll scope the whole building and schedule around turnover.
Usually within 24 to 48 hours. De Pere is close to our service base, so response times here are among our fastest. For anything urgent — a nest by a doorway, an active infestation — call or text, and we’ll work you in.
For routine preventive visits, no. Roughly 90% of pest activity originates on the exterior, and that’s our focus. Just leave gates unlocked and keep pets inside during the appointment. For active interior problems, we’ll schedule around you.
They’re worth addressing promptly. Carpenter ants excavate wood to nest rather than eating it, so damage accumulates more slowly than termite damage — but a colony working a wet sill plate or window header for a few years does real structural harm. They’re also a symptom: they move into wood that moisture has already softened. When we treat, we identify the water source, because eliminating the colony without fixing the leak just clears space for the next one.
Both. Seasonal programs give the best long-term results and cost less over time, but we’re glad to do one-time work — wasp nest removal and bed bug treatment being the most common single-visit requests.
